I was born in April, the cruelest month according to T. S. Eliot, the sweetest one for Geoffrey Chauser, and since my childhood I have had a particular fascination for magic. My parents were from Cilento (South Italy) and my paternal grandfather knew how to remove the “evil eye”. Perhaps also for this reason, immediately after my first degree, I perfected my studies in cultural anthropology by carrying out a field’s research in Mexico and precisely in Chiapas, where I met many curanderos who delighted me, and sometimes terrified me, with their stories about black and white magic. Later, after my second degree in Hispano-American Languages Literatures I returned to Mexico again with my “Penelope Project, the Woman and the Myth in Hispanic-American Scripture”. From that moment on, I too began to weave together with Penelope as well, on the loom of poetry, short stories and novel, poetic prose and theater.

I love to choose words, translate them into emotions, and as a “ferrywoman of words” I have been invited to talk about plots, warps and translation, in the universities of: New York, Thessaloniki, Seville, Granada and Puerto Rico; in the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas in Cadiz and the Catie’s campus of Turrialba, Costarica and in the creative writing workshops of the Mid-Manhattan Public Library of New York and the House of Women in Trieste.

I write novels, short stories, poems, and I have also won some prizes with my creations: I am particularly fond of the first prize for poetry: “Hypatia” 2011 and the first prize for fiction “Mimosa” 2015. In 2018, from one of my ribs was born Ottawa G., who from a character became my enemy-friend, daughter, sister, antagonist, in short, an enterprising and independent woman. If you want to get to know better me and Ottawa G., please, continue browsing in this site and also in www.madamesalade.wordpress.com.
